Special Cookies for Horses recipe
1 cup uncooked oatmeal
1 cup flour
1 cup shredded carrots
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
2 tablespoons corn oil
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup molasses

Mix ingredients in a bowl in the order listed. Make small
balls and place on cookie sheet sprayed with Pam. Bake at
350 degrees F for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Horses love these.
Birthday Cake for a Horse recipe
4 cups sweet feed or oats
1 cup molasses or honey
2 carrots, cut into carrot sticks
1 apple, cut into slices

Mix the honey and sweet feed or oats together in a
large bowl. When fully mixed, place the mixture on a
plate and shape into the form of a birthday cake. Use
the carrots as candles and the apple slices as
decorations. Horses enjoy this sticky delicious treat.
Carrot and Apple Horse Cookies recipe
1 cup sweet feed
2 cup bran
1 cup flax seed
4 large carrots, shredded
1 cup molasses
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup applesauce

Mix molasses, brown sugar, carrots and applesauce in one
bowl.

In another bowl mix the dry ingredients. Slowly combine
the molasses mixture with the dry ingredients. Add only
enough molasses mixture to form a thick dough, add more
bran if necessary.

Line cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Using a tablespoon,
drop batter onto cookie sheet and flatten slightly to form
portions about the size of a silver dollar. Bake at 300
degrees F for about 1 hour. Flip and bake for an additional
45 minutes until they are dried out. Keep checking to
make sure they don't burn.
Horse Treats recipe
1 packet Quaker oatmeal (dry)
1 handful sweet feed
2 spoonsful applesauce
1 spoonful honey or molasses
1 handful Cheerios
4 sugar cubes
Pinch of brown sugar
1/2 cup water

You can mix this right in your horse’s feed
bucket. Mix the oatmeal with the water. Add sweet
feed and applesauce. Stir together. Add the Cheerios,
brown sugar and honey or molasses. Mix again and
place sugar cubes on top. This serves one horse.
Horse Muffins recipe
1 1/2 cups bran
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup skimmed milk
1/2 cup molasses
2 tablespoons corn oil
1 egg, beaten

Stir together bran, flour, soda, and baking powder.
Mix together milk, molasses, oil and egg. Mix wet
ingredients into dry ingredients. Bake in greased or
paper lined muffin tins at 400 degrees F for 15
minutes.
Cold Weather Treat for Horses and Ponies recipe
1 cup apple cider
1 cup corn oil
2 ounces glycerin
2 pounds crimped oats
5 pounds flaked corn

Heat the apple cider to boiling. Mix with corn oil and
glycerin. Pour over the oats and corn. Stir thoroughly.
Let this blend stand for 5 minutes before serving to
your faithful friend.
Winter Salad for Horses recipe
6 apples, quartered
8 carrots, cut in three inch pieces
2 cups Quaker oats
1 cup sweet feed
Molasses

Combine all ingredients and fold in enough molasses
to make the oatmeal and grain stick to the fruit. Chill
overnight and serve.

Cold Winter Bran Mash for Horses recipe
4 cups sweet feed
6 cups bran
1 cup molasses
Hot water

Mix sweet feed with the bran. Add hot water until it
is the consistency of hamburger. Add molasses. Let
steep for 5 to 10 minutes.
